Lochs and Lochan’s

There is excellent fishing for a variety of species on the Estate. Numerous brown trout can found in the hill lochs (Gorm Loch and Crom Loch) and Abhainn Strath a Bhathaich (a tributary of the Blackwater) Fish of up to 6.5lbs have been caught over the years. Pike are plentiful in Loch Vaich with the largest in recent times being 20lbs+. Although salmon can no longer migrate up the river due to the hydro-electric installations at Loch Garve there still remains a population of land-locked salmon to be fished for

There are two Hydro-Electric dams on the Estate built in the 1950’s. One is located adjacent to the main Garve to Ullapool road (Loch Glasscarnoch) and the other is an earth dam set in the heart of the Estate (Loch Vaich)
